    So for some reason I'm not seeing my comment in the comments section I don't know why. So I'll paraphrase this. US department of energy is banning GSL General Service Lamps this July. Unfortunately many reptile lights are being impacted by this and are effectively being banned here. Including Arcadia and multiple other reptile lighting companies. If you can't find the lights in the US as of recent thats why. USARK has a webpage to contact the Department of energy and is asking people in the US to speak up to see if we can get an exemption. It is also recommended to contact your state representative .

    One thing id mention. The guy on the right seems to be unaware snakes in tubs and their sleep cycle isnt improved by a lack of light its disturbed. Light doesnt blinde a snake or hurt it. It improves their neurological health, gives them an oppurtunity to bask, and establish a good sleep cycle. Just because you live in a dark tub as a nocturnal animal doesnt mean u will sleep good if you never know when day time is!!! While light isnt needed for a royals survival it is really good for them. Imagine you are a creature that is up throughout the night, and then you are never given a chance to see light!! "ball pythons are burrowing species" well mine climbs, basks, explores, and burrows. They arent worms !! Day/ night cycle is a must have for optimal sleep and mental health and pretty hard to accomplish inside a tub ;)

    Maybe it’s just me from an aesthetic standpoint but that looks extremely overcrowded for a spider that can get to be 6”. I’m just curious if it has enough room to move around and an area for nesting and molting in it. I will state that I have never set up bio active anything for spiders and have only done this for reptiles so I’m genuinely curious as I’m considering getting the pink toe that’s been at my local pet store for quite a while and feel bad for because it’s habitat is absolutely barren with zero enrichment ever. Edit: 😂 I need to be less impatient and watch videos to the end. From the distance it looked extremely narrow and overcrowded BUUUT that’s why I watch his videos to learn also would it be safe to go bigger than this or are theses a species that would be uncomfortable with too much space? Thanks!

    • @TheBioDudeJoshHalter

      Hi, this species requires a higher humidity environment, so I'd recommend fewer, smaller holes of about a centimeter diameter on one side of your bin, and a few on one end of the lid. All isopods require SOME level of ventilation or they will die.

    what should the ventilation be for powder orange and armidilldium species ?

    • @TheBioDudeJoshHalter
      @TheBioDudeJoshHalter 20 дней назад

      For powder oranges in a standard indoor room, you want to have adequate ventilation because this species doesn't prefer moisture. At least 9 holes of a centimeter's diameter on the lid of the bin is what I'd recommend. As for armadillidium species, there's high variation between humidity requirements for each species. The best advice I can give is to look up the requirements for each individual species you keep. Aquariumax Pets has good videos breaking down what different species need. For example, zebra and clown species usually need a side with less ventilation to retain more moisture but they don't molt well in stagnant environments, so having a well-ventilated side of your bin with multiple holes is a good idea.
